LifeTech Diagnostics is a CLIA-accredited (through COLA), high complexity laboratory, which means our clinical laboratory is compliant with the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) and is recognized by the Joint Commission.

CLIA refers to the federal legislation and the personnel and procedures established by it under the aegis of the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) for the surveillance and regulation of all clinical laboratory procedures in the United States. CLIA regulations define three categories of testing complexity: waived, moderate, and high.

LifeTech participates in a continuing program of proficiency testing conducted through the American College of Physicians (CAP) whereby an independent laboratory periodically submits specimens of known composition for testing and reporting by LifeTech to ensure that the laboratory  is operating according to the highest possible standards.

LifeTech Diagnostics is the only accredited, independent lab in the Topeka metro area. Because samples are collected and for the majority of tests, processed on-premises, we are able to offer same-day or next-day results.

In addition to regular clinical tests, LifeTech also offers molecular testing using PCR and non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) using genome-wide sequencing for the accurate detection of chromosomal abnormalities that may affect newborns.

The company also offers diagnostic ultrasound imaging services including 2D, 3D and 4D capabilities.
